I saw this poem on Facebook and it had so many great comments after it, I decided to share it with you.
First I was dying to finish high school and go to college.
Then I was dying to finish college and start to work.
Then I was dying to get married and have children.
How about taking life one day at a time?

And then I was dying for my children to grow old enough to go to school so I could go back to work.
Then I was dying to retire.
Now I am dying and I remembered I forgot to live.
Have you ever done this? I know I have. And then I look back and say to myself, why?
Is the future that much better that we miss the moments now?
I was speaking to a mom the other day and she was telling me how hard things were with three kids. I laughed because I totally understood her situation. I then told her, "Smaller kids, smaller issues; bigger kids, bigger issues. Enjoy them while you can."
I meant it as well. Not that I don't love my boys—I do—it's just that when they were younger, it was easier. Now that they are older, we have to look at calendars and try to fit in family time. I know that it is a part of life, but sometimes I wish for the old days when we didn't have to plan and we could just be together whenever.
"Dying to do something!"
Remember this: What you say to yourself is how you will react to situations. I am not saying you are going to die; what I am saying is that your body and mind react to the negative words. You will even feel it physically. For example, let's say you want to win a prize and you say, "I really hope I win." If you don't win, you are disappointed, but you move on. If you say "I will just die if I don't win", the reaction you feel will be much stronger than just dealing with the disappointment.

Live in the moment and Plan for the Future
The other night, both my boys were home. We like to sit on my bed and talk. It was something we did when they were little and it's a comfortable atmosphere so the boys can talk about anything they want. They like it because we laugh and have fun and support each other as well. It's those little moments when I look back at my life that I enjoy the most: talking with them, laughing, sharing their dreams or their challenges, knowing that it's these moments we remember the most. We will remember them and grow from these memories. This is what life is about—making plans, enjoying the wait, sharing times together, and knowing that even with the bad stuff, there is good.
See it, believe it and be it!
Enjoy each day; it is your gift, your present to open, to explore and to discover what is waiting there for you!
